A plucky trio of Sandbach women are taking on a grueling cycling challenge for charity.

Clare Curtis, Kim Morton and Lisa Jordan are preparing for the epic ride from London to Amsterdam from September 22 to 24.

They popped into Waitrose in Sandbach last month to seek sponsors for the trip, which they are taking on to raise money for St Luke’s Hospice.

The centre needs £8,600 a day to keep it running – all from private donations.

All three ladies have been affected by cancer with each of them having a relative who died of the disease and have all benefitted from help provided in their hour of need by palliative helpers either from St Luke’s or similar schemes in other parts of the country.

During the event in the supermarket they also held an Easter competition for a jar of chocolate eggs.

Anyone who would like to join them in the challenge can find out more about the fundraising project at www.stlukes-hospice.co.uk/events/londontoamsterdam.
