POLICE are appealing for witnesses following an unprovoked attack on an elderly man in Warmingham.
At 11.50am on Friday (February 15) a 76-year-old man was walking along the pavement on School Lane in Warmingham.
As he got close to Warmingham C of E Primary School a man in a black BMW pulled up alongside him.
The man got out of the vehicle and they began a conversation.
Without warning the suspect then punched the victim in the face knocking him unconscious.
The suspect then got back into his vehicle and drove off at speed.
The victim was taken to Leighton Hospital with a head injury and was released the next day.
The offender is described as dark skinned, approximately 5′ in height with black spiky hair.
DC Keith Graham said: “This type of incident is extremely rare in Warmingham and we are urging anyone who may have been in the area at the time to contact police in order to help us with our enquiries.”
