MP marks milestone for Sandbach school
Sandbach MP Fiona Bruce visited St John’s Church of England Primary School to mark its 150th year.
She met with pupils, their parents and grandparents, teachers and teaching assistants to celebrate the milestone.
The MP said: “It was wonderful to attend the birthday celebration event and to see photos of the school and its pupils, which have been collected from local residents showing the life of the school over so many years.
“I enjoyed looking round this lovely school and was particularly impressed with what a happy school it is – not only when I met the pupils, but this was emphasised by the fact that so many of the staff have been at the school for many years and are clearly devoted and dedicated to it and to the well-being of the children there.”
The coffee and memorabilia morning was open to local residents and included a slide presentation about life on the Heath over the years.
Deputy head teacher Suzanne Jenkins said:
“We were thrilled with the turnout. This is just one of the many events we are holding as part of our celebrations.”
