Sandbach man on Asian mission

A Sandbach fire cadet leader, who is raising funds for a school project in Nepal, has headed to Asia with his bike to help with fundraising.

Cycling in temperatures of over 30 degrees Ben Bradbury is currently on a 12-day cycling adventure, which will take him through Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam.

In October next year Ben will accompany a team of cadets and leaders to Nepal to build much needed classrooms at a village school, but first the group need to raise over £70,000 for the project.

Ben’s epic bike ride will take him from Bangkok to Saigon, covering 500km.

He said: “I went out to Nepal with a group of cadets two years ago and was amazed how much of a difference we made to young people’s education.

“Working with the charity Classrooms in the Clouds we raised enough money to build a school which will be used for generations to come.

“Next year we plan to build eight classrooms at an already established school, but first need to raise over £70,000 hence this epic bike ride.”
