It’s been a busy start to the summer for the Sandbach Striders.

Last week saw members take to the Welsh hills in four different events, with more than 15,000 feet of ascent between them.

There were also three park runs, a five-miler in fancy dress and one of the busiest 10k events in the country.

• Entry is now open for the Sandbach 10k and Family Fun Run on Sepember 11 this year, sponsored by Butcher & Barlow.

There will be an array of family activities going on throughout the day including a bouncy castle and live music.

All proceeds from the event will be donated to the South Cheshire branch of The Samaritans.

There is a half mile children’s fun run kicking off at 10.20am, with the main race due to start at 11am.

The event takes place at Sandbach Cricket Club where facilities and parking will be available. For more information and to register visit http://www.sandbachstriders.co.uk.
