Winter wonderland for charity
Sandbach families are invited to a festive wonderland to celebrate Christmas in South Cheshire this year.
The event, based at Weston, is the work of 22-year-old business student Graham Witter and will be raising money for the Donna Louise Children’s Hospice.
This is the fourth successive year that his family home, farm buildings and garden will be transformed into a magical festive spectacle, with a visit from Santa every Friday, Saturday and Sunday evening in the run up to Christmas.
Visitors will have the chance of a ‘sleigh selfie’ and the opportunity to look inside Santa’s Grotto, listen to festive music, enjoy mince pies and a special Christmas Ice Cream Van.
Graham said: “I started supporting the Children’s Hospice in 2013 after they had provided respite care for my disabled sister and offered family support to my parents.
“During that time I have raised £17,000 through my Christmas Light Display for the hospice which has helped them fund vital services for local children across Cheshire and Staffordshire.
“But after losing my sister in December 2015 I am now continuing to fundraise in her memory and will be making the 2016 display the best and brightest for her.”
The event runs from December 1 to 28, 6.15pm to 9pm at Carters Green Farm, Jack Lane in Weston.
